Founder and principal consultant

Melissa serves as the founder and principal consultant for Cognitive Solutions. She has 20 years of behavioral health and human services provider, management, consulting, technology, and business development experience.

Melissa’s passion aligns with the triple aim of healthcare:


  1. Improving clinical quality and outcomes
  2. Reducing costs and improving efficiencies
  3. Supporting providers in focusing on person-centered “whole person” care and population health

Her skill set helps providers by leveraging innovative technological and operational solutions across the continuum of care, with a special interest in the tools that promote patient safety, care integration, patient engagement techniques, and care coordination.

About Melissa GIAmpietri

Professional experience

Prior to founding Cognitive Solutions Healthcare Consulting, Melissa held roles as:

  • Vice President of Clinical Solutions for Concord Technologies
  • Behavioral Health Specialty Director at NextGen Healthcare overseeing their commercial strategy
  • Leading West Coast business development for a premier behavioral health technology firm
  • Solution Design Consultant for behavioral health and human services technology company
  • Program Manager directing operations and clinical activities for a community mental health center (CMHC)

She has worked with many behavioral health and human services organizations across inpatient, residential, outpatient, and community-based care and treatment settings.

Melissa earned a Master of Business Administration degree in Healthcare Management from Saint Leo University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Eastern Washington University.
